This is the first newsletter from the studio of Hank Kaminsky since the site was set up some time ago. There are several pieces of news I wanted to send to you.
The documentary film “Sphere of Influence” is now available in DVD form. This half hour film was created by Stace Treat, now of the University of North Carolina, then a graduate student at the University of Arkansas. Stace followed the making of the World Peace Prayer fountain from its beginnings to the dedication some 16 months later and has put together a wonderful documentary which has been winning prizes at a number of film festivals around the country and abroad. The film has a dramatic score by Fort Smith musician Kevin Croxton

Another new item at the website are the 2 Peace Medallions at:

These sculptures were conceived as manhole covers and can be seen in bronze on the website. The concept at work here is that the words of the prayer are emerging from the earth itself. These versions of the sculpture are a cast paper rendition designed to hang on the wall. I have used pure cotton paper handmade from virgin cotton and highlighted with old blue genes beaten in the studio Hollander beater. They are lightweight and priced to sell at $300 each signed numbered casting.
Coming soon to the site are the cast paper sculptures and the charcoal drawings from my most recent gallery shows in Arkansas.
